I’m Xuebin, a Robotics Support Engineer at Weston Robot
in Singapore, with a degree in Mechatronics and Robotics Engineering from NTU (2025).
This site is a public record of what I’ve learned. My work spans robot hardware,
firmware, software and networks, and I write things down as I figure them out.
Every note here started as a real problem I had to solve.
What I work on
- Robot troubleshooting and repair: root-cause analysis across hardware,
firmware, software, network and system integration. - Automated customer onboarding: Ansible playbooks that take a fresh Ubuntu
machine to a working robot development environment, with drivers, SDKs and
system configuration. - Technical training: teaching engineering and research teams to operate,
set up and develop on robot platforms on their own. - AI-assisted engineering: MCP servers and Claude Skills that standardise
engineering procedures and cut repetitive documentation work.
Skills
- Programming: Python, C++, Bash
- Systems: Ubuntu/Linux, Git, Ansible, AWS
- Automation: MCP servers, Claude Skills
- Design: SolidWorks, Abaqus FEA, electrical and mechanical troubleshooting
Background
Final-year project (NTU): design optimisation of flexure-based parallel
mechanisms, using genetic algorithms to search for structural topologies and
finite element analysis to check them against analytical models.
